AL-AZIZ Meaning

Allah is the one who is most powerful and strong. Allah is the conqueror who is never being conquered and never harmed. Allah’s strength, glory, and power are beyond our comprehension. It is not just limited to the creation of things, but also in knowledge, and mercy.

And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. [Quran, 26:68]

Al-‘Azeez is the Noble One, no one is like Him, in His being and attributes. He is dominant over everything, and nothing can exist and sustain without Him.

Al-‘Azeez Himself says: And know that Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise [Quran, 2:260]

AL-AZIZ Reflection

Just like any other name, this is such a beautiful, comforting, and mindful name of Allahﷻ. The almighty, the source of all the strength and all the might, all the power - and Allahﷻ gives the strength, power, honor, and dignity to whomever Heﷻ.

Al-Aziz is the source of everything

It brings fear and love to me in forms that cannot be explained. SubhanAllah. Fear of strength, severity, and conquest. If it wasn’t about Allahﷻ, not a single leaf would have been able to fall to the ground - then how can any injustice, don't by someone, or done by us intentionally or unintentionally go unattended?

Isn’t it the consolation we all look for, and it is right there?

Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is Allah's; and whether you manifest what is in your minds or hide it, Allah will call you to account according to it; then He will forgive whom He pleases and chastise whom He pleases, and Allah has power over all things. [Quran 2.284]

Life is the mercy of Al-Aziz

What else can be closest to you than the blood running in your veins, under your skin? Give it a closer look and feel. The more you feel it the more fear and love it brings. You will feel the power of ALLAHﷻ. The might of Allahﷻ. The mercy of ALLAHﷻ.

Verily, then to Allah belongs all honour, power and glory. [Quran, 4: 139]

Let alone, a seed becoming a tree, taking different sizes, shapes, and colors. Let alone, the air flowing into the lungs, the beating of the heart, and the movement of hands as I write this - everything is in the power and mercy of Allah.

Al-Aziz is the strength

Know that all the strength that comes to you is from AL-Aziz. All the power that You have been given is by THE MOST POWERFUL, AL-Aziz. There is no hiding from Al-Aziz. There must not be any fear besides AL-Aziz.

Your honor is with Allah - the more you get close to Allah, the more honorable you become.

Your status is with and from Allah - the superiority of a human being is based on their righteousness, and piety - wealth and power are not the measure of status in the eyes of Allah, it’s how your conduct is when it comes to your submission to Allah, your faith, and your desire to gain knowledge of your religion.

Your hopes and desires are with Allah - submitting to divine will surely is more rewarding than what we think is good for us.

Al-Aziz, Ya Allah, all the power, sovereignty, all the strength, all the might belongs to you and only you Ya Allah. I seek refuge in You, your might, and in your power, from any other form of power in this world. Ya Allah, Al-Aziz, I own nothing, and no one owns me besides you, AL-Aziz. Every single breath of mine is yours, and I submit myself and all my affairs to you - and you are THE MOST POWERFUL. Ya Allah, bless us and make us of those who rely only and only on your power. Ameen.
